Dr. Seema Choudhary is a scholar of English literature and a specialist in the feminine voice in Indian fiction. Born on 11 August 1975 and raised in a rural setting in Rajasthan, she pursued her entire higher education at Jai Narayan Vyas University (JNVU), Jodhpur — completing her postgraduate degree in English in 1998 and being awarded her Ph.D. in 2002.
She began teaching at JNVU as guest faculty in 2003 and went on to build a long academic career at the university, later qualifying UGC NET and earning a Post-Doctoral Fellowship. Today she serves as Professor and Head of the Department of English at Maulana Azad University, Jodhpur.
Her scholarship centres on feminine sensibility, feminism, and the portrayal of women in modern Indian English fiction, reflected across her authored books and research papers. Alongside literary study, she is committed to teaching English to rural youth and researching the empowerment of rural women — carrying the confidence of language back to the communities she comes from. She lives in Jodhpur and is married to Shri Mahendra Choudhary.
